Seeley and Wilson to race the NW200 with Gearlink Kawasaki

Gearlink Kawasaki is very pleased to announce their plans for the Vauxhall International North West 200 in 2016. They have signed multi NW200 winner Alastair Seeley and long-term Gearlink Kawasaki rider Ben Wilson.

The team is fielding two very strong riders at the Irish event which is being held between the 8th – 14th May. They are extremely excited about running Alastair and Ben together again on the Kawasaki Supersport bikes, the pair will be re-united after being team-mates in 2013.

Alastair has won an incredible 15 North West 200 races and will be hoping to extend that tally in 2016. Ben will make his second appearance at the fantastic Northern Irish road racing circuit.

Alastair Seeley – “I’m very happy to be riding for the family team of Michael and Norma at Gearlink Kawasaki again, plus back working with my former crew chief Arron Phillips.

I hope we can start where we left off at the NW200 in 2013, where I won with them. As the bike model hasn’t changed for a number of years, hopefully I can just dial in my previous settings and be good to go from the start.

Anything I’ve asked for the event this year, Michael has agreed and assures me that we will have strong motors, which I’m buzzing about.”

Ben Wilson – “I am looking forward to making my return to the NW200 this year, last year was a learning year and I really enjoyed the experience that I got there. I know the Gearlink Kawasaki team so well and I know that we can achieve some really strong results there.

I secured an 11th and 9th last year and will be pushing hard to improve on those results this year and thank Michael and Norma for the opportunity.”

Team owner Michael de Bidaph – “It is really exciting for the team to have secured such a strong line-up to compete at the NW200 this year with Alastair and Ben.

Alastair rode our Supersport bike there in 2013 but due to unfortunate circumstances, Norma and I were unable to attend, so it will be great to be fully involved this year. It was Ben’s first time there last year so now that he knows his way around I am sure he will also be very competitive.

Ben and Alastair both had a successful season with us in the British Supersport Championship in 2013 and it would be great to get some strong results at the North West 200.”
