Roger Hayden Holds Off Tommy Hayden To Win AMA Supersport Race At VIR

Kawasaki’s Roger Hayden kept his AMA Supersport Championship hopes alive by holding off brother and teammate Tommy Hayden by half-a-bikelength in Sunday’s 17-lap final at Virginia International Raceway. Tommy Hayden’s Supersport Championship point lead is now 301 to 270 over Roger Hayden with one race remaining. Yamaha’s Jason DiSalvo, who rode with an injured left knee, raced close to the lead pair before fading to a safe third. Kneedraggers.com’s Robert Jensen crashed his Yamaha out of fourth on lap 10. Yoshimura Suzuki’s Ben Spies and Topline Printing Yamaha’s Chris Peris crashed together in turn one while racing for sixth on lap 14. Provisional AMA Supersport Race Results: 1.
