The RoadRace Factory/Red Bull Yamaha team is planning to compete in the final two rounds of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship October 3-5 at Silverstone and October 17-19 at Brands Hatch, according to a press release issued by the team.

“This is going to be an incredible undertaking for us, but it’s something that we’ve actually wanted to do since season one,” Team Owner Danny Walker is quoted as saying in a press release issued by his team. “Our mission at the RoadRace Factory has always been to develop riders that can compete with the best in the world regardless of the series. We’re going over there to show what our riders are capable of and what our program can produce. We’re also going to explore more opportunities to grow our program and investigate the viability of possibly competing in a full season overseas. The bottom line is that we seek to promote American riders and provide them with a path toward an international series. It’s been our vision all along and we’re excited that it has finally been given the green light.”

RoadRace Factory/Red Bull team is taking its current AMA Pro Daytona SportBike riders Jake Gagne and Tomas Puerta to England to race in the British Supersport class on Yamaha YZF-R6s.

“I’m excited for the whole experience,” Gagne, the current AMA Pro Daytona SportBike Championship point leader, was quoted as saying in the release. “New tracks, new series, new class. I just can’t wait to get racing over there. It’s awesome to see all the hard work the team and especially Danny Walker has put into this effort, and we’ll work hard to make America proud.”

“First, I want to thank the whole RoadRace Factory/Red Bull team for all the hard work during these three years in AMA and helping me reach my best results in my career and my first professional championship,” said Puerta. “This is an awesome opportunity for me as a rider to go race in the BSB Championship, learn new tracks and get international exposure. It’s also a really competitive championship. There’s a lot of awesome fans at the races, and I get to work with a team that feels like a family. Can’t wait for it!”

Two-time AMA Pro SuperSport National Champion James Rispoli currently races in the 13-round British Supersport Championship.

The six-round AMA Pro Road Racing series ends September 14 at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
