Rispoli ready to build on points scoring finish at super fast Thruxton

James Rispoli arrives at the sixth round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship this weekend at the high-speed Thruxton circuit determined to build on his first point scoring finish last time out with the Anvil Hire TAG Racing Yamaha team.

At Snetterton the 25-year-old Floridian scored his first championship points in his rookie Superbike campaign and battled inside the top eight before tyre wear hampered the end of his race. The BSB rookie is now gearing up for the next two races of the season at the Hampshire circuit, where he has previously been a podium finisher in the Supersport class and still holds the lap record in the class.

Rispoli said: “I am really excited going to Thruxton as I love the track; it is so fast, I have a good history there and it should suit the Yamaha well. We made good progress at Snetterton and we want to keep that momentum rolling now into this weekend.

“We are supposed to have some new components for this weekend which should help us in our pursuit of moving forward at Thruxton. It is a good track and everything there is fast and flowing and I feel the Yamaha should suit the track characteristics. Overall I am very excited and we have been on the podium and still hold the lap record in the Supersport class so I am feeling fantastic about this weekend.”
