Report: Canadian Peris To Race Yamaha In Supersport World Championship

Canadian teen Chris Peris may race a Yamaha YZF-R6 in the 2006 FIM Supersport World Championship, if the report appearing at the following link is true. ~http://www.gosbk.com/news_uk/view.php?id=11~ Peris is currently in New Zealand until January 25 and was unavailable for immediate comment at post time. Riding a privateer Yamaha, Peris finished 10th in the 2005 AMA Supersport Championship, with a best finish of sixth at Pikes Peak, and seventh in the AMA Formula Xtreme Championship, with a best result of fourth at Pikes Peak and fifth in the Daytona 200. Peris also finished second in the 2005 Hindle Pro Exhausts 600cc Sport Bike National Championship in Canada with two wins in spite of only entering six races of the eight-round series. In November 2005, Diablo Racing announced that it had signed Peris to race with its team full-time in Canada and in select AMA rounds in 2006.
