After topping the dry morning practice session, Team Valvoline EMGO Suzuki’s Steve Rapp was again quickest in Friday afternoon AMA Supersport practice, before a short rain shower soaked Barber Motorsports Park.

Most riders only got in four or five laps before the rains came Friday afternoon, and Rapp’s 1:30.684 on his Michelin-shod GSX-R600 was fastest of the session. Rapp came into the pits, changed to rain tires, continued riding and again turned in the fastest time (1:51.659) of the few riders who tested in the wet conditions.

Rapp’s 1:28.520 from the morning session was the quickest Supersport time of the day.

The Supersport qualifying groups (faster and slower riders) will be split based on Friday morning practice times.
