It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the Motorcycle Roadracing Association announces the loss of one of its longtime members, Mike Hellerstedt, following a battle with cancer. Mike passed in his hospital room on Tuesday, July 19th, surround by his family and loved ones.

In addition to his pursuits as a motorcycle racer, Mike was an avid adventurer who sought to bring his friends along for fun. His passion for adventure and sport was only surpassed by his desire to be a good friend, husband and father as was evidenced by the volume of people that visited him in his final days.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sofia, and his recently born son, Gunnar. A fund has been set up for them at the following link. All donations are appreciated. https://pages.giveforward.com/remembrance/page-rfrpz33/

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 24th, at 12:00pm at the top of Loveland Pass followed by a celebration of Mike’s life at the Elks Lodge located at 2475 W. 26th Ave, Denver, CO 80211. The family encourages everyone to ride your motorcycles to the service and celebration.

The MRA would like to extend its condolences to the entire Hellerstedt family, fellow MRA competitors and friends, and the racing community as a whole.
