R.I.P. Amateur Canadian Superbike Racer Christian Auger

Christian Auger TORONTO, Ont. (August 19, 2013) – Frontline CSBK Inc., organizer of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship, regrets to announce that Christian Auger of Champlain, Que. has succumbed to injuries received in a crash last Sunday, August 11. The 34-year-old was competing in the Amateur Superbike event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park when he was involved in a single-bike accident in turn eight on the opening lap. The race was stopped and eventually called off. Auger was transported to hospital in Toronto with a serious head injury. Auger was fifth in the Amateur Superbike point standings entering the race with top finishes of fifth at Autodrome St-Eustache and Atlantic Motorsport Park earlier this year. “Everyone involved with the series is saddened by this news and we extend our sympathies to Christian’s family and friends,” said series Director of Competition Colin Fraser. “He was a valued member of our racing community and will be greatly missed.”
