About 1/4ley Racing On Track Development
Quarterley Racing On Track Development is a professional motorcycle road racing team devoted to supporting, guiding and nurturing the best young riders as they enter the ranks of professional racing. Riders are chosen not only for their proven on-track success, but also for their character, positive attitude, ability to learn and willingness to put in the work. Commitment to the sport and support from family are two things we look for most. The ability to interact in a positive way with the team, spectators and the general public and represent their sponsors in the best possible light are each an absolute must. It is the objective of the team to improve the careers of its racers and, at the same time, broaden the awareness of the sport of motorcycle road racing. Quarterley Racing On Track Development will be competing in all nine rounds of the 2019 MotoAmerica series with four riders. The team principals are Dale Quarterley and Bob Robbins.
Dale Quarterley is best known for being the independent rider who could run with, and defeat, the factory teams in AMA Road Racing in the 1990s. Dale might best be known for his stunning upset victory when he won the 1993 AMA Superbike race at Mid-Ohio as an independent rider. But he was also a three-time AMA Endurance Champion as well as a Battle of the Twins Champion. He finished second overall in Superbike points in the 1993 AMA Superbike Championship riding leased equipment and went on to finish fifth in the Superbike points in both 1994 and 1995. Dale paired up with Bob Robbins in 2016 to provide coaching to the newest generation of riders.
Bob Robbins has been an avid club racer on Ducatis since the early 1990’s, getting his start at Loudon and still racing at select events when he’s not at MotoAmerica races with the team. He started sponsorship as a way of giving back to the sport he has enjoyed for so many years. His focus is on helping talented young riders and their families make the transition from club racing to the professional ranks. When the KTM RC Cup was created, he knew it was a series he would like to be involved in. Bob teamed up with Dale Quarterley for the 2016 season, growing the team to include four riders the following year. His business background and Dale’s hands-on coaching and bike building became a solid partnership in 2017, winning the KTM RC390 Championship and getting third and fifth overall in the class as well. After re-grouping and deciding to go with Kawasakis for 2018, the team will take the knowledge from last season and set their sights on the championship and further development of their young riders in 2019.
