Pro Honda Oils Renews Sponsorship Of AMA Supersport Class

PICKERINGTON, Ohio (February 28, 2006) AMA Pro Racing announced today that Pro Honda Oils & Chemicals will return as sponsor of the Pro Honda Oils Supersport Championship in 2006. This will mark the 16th year of Pro Honda Oils’ association with the AMA Supersport Championship. It marks the longest-running sponsorship in the history of AMA road racing. Both the championship and Honda’s oil and chemical brand have experienced tremendous growth since the partnership began in the early 1990s. The Pro Honda Oils Supersport Championship kicks off on Thursday, March 9 at Daytona International Speedway. “It’s exciting to continue our sponsorship of one of the most competitive racing series in motorcycle racing,” said Rick Mitchell, assistant manager of motorcycle parts, sales and marketing at American Honda. “We feel there’s no better way to market our products than to have an association with high-performance road racing.” The Pro Honda Oils Championship has brought racing fans some of most competitive racing of any class under the AMA Superbike Championship umbrella. Many of the leading riders in the history of AMA road racing have earned the AMA Supersport title including Doug Polen, Miguel Duhamel and Nicky Hayden.
