DUNLOP DOMINATES AFM WEEKEND AT BUTTONWILLOW RACEWAY PARK

Joey Pascarella, Bryce Prince, Andy DiBrino and Lenny Hale headlined a dominant showing by Dunlop riders at the American Motorcycle Federation (AFM) races at Buttonwillow Raceway on March 22-23. Dunlop won six of the largest AFM races over the weekend, including sweeping the podium in both the 600 Production and 600 Superbike classes. DiBrino claimed two first place finishes and two second place finishes during the weekend, while Pascarella set a new track record en route to a victory in Formula Pacific, the premiere race of the weekend, edging two-time AFM Champion, Ricky Corey for the race win.

After experiencing overwhelming historical success with Dunlop’s UK made racing tires, Dunlop’s new spec US made racing tires led the parade to the podium this weekend. The new US made products earned rave reviews by the riders, which showed up in the lap times posted over the weekend. Pascarella set the track record while riding Dunlop’s US made Slicks. His ride was even more impressive in that he won while riding a 600 and not a 1000.

DiBrino, racing for the first time at the Buttonwillow track, won the 750 Production and 750 Superbike classes and  finished second to fellow Dunlop rider Bryce Prince in both the 600 Production and 600 Superbike events.

Dunlop’s Lenny Hale also had a productive weekend, winning the Open GP race and also posted the second-fastest lap time in the Formula Pacific race.

Rounding out Dunlop’s dominating showing, Joy Higa took home the victory in the Afemme class race.

The AFM results in Southern California continue Dunlop’s nation-wide strength this year, having already posted dominant showings in January at the CVMA event, in February at CSS racing in Miami and CMRA events, and earlier this month at the WERA stop in Roebling, Georgia.
