Cal-Sportbike is hosting an open house and rider party this Sunday 8/14 from 12-4PM at our shop in just off Angeles Crest Highway. We will be grilling and providing riders with burgers, hot dogs, and beverages. We invite SoCal riders to join us for fun and camaraderie. We are also making this event this a bit of a fundraiser for Debbie Heistand & Chris Keister (local SoCal riders and track regulars… Chris is active duty USCG). Chris was injured at the “Beat the Heat” 8/3 track event and then they had a total loss of their camper vehicle, riding gear, and quite a bit of personal property in an auto fire on the freeway on their way home. It appears their bikes look to be a total loss as well. Several industry folks have stepped up to lend very generous support with some great raffle prizes and assistance for them. A raffle will be held at the party on Sunday with tickets going for $10 per ticket (no limit to how many you can buy though!). Prizes include: 1. From Glendale/LA side: Hwy 2 to Upper Big Tujunga (turn left) to Angeles Forest (turn right) to Mt. Emma (turn right) to Ft. Tejon (turn right). Go to end and make a left, then immediate right on Valyermo, which becomes Big Pines Hwy. Go to stop sign at Mt. High Ski Resort and turn left on Hwy 2.
