Northeast Sportbike Association (NESBA) Announces Fundraising Effort to Purchase Soft Barriers for Road Atlanta The Northeast Sportbike Association is pleased to announce their 2nd annual fundraising effort to help purchase soft barriers for deployment at Road Atlanta. The fundraiser will be held in conjunction with their upcoming 4th of July holiday weekend track day event at Road Atlanta on July 5-7, 2013. NESBA members and staff have been volunteering their time since last December to organize the event which will raise money for the Roadracing World Action Fund, a non profit 501(c)3 organization that promotes motorcycle safety through the deployment of protective soft barriers at race tracks across the country. On Saturday evening, July 6, at 6:30 PM there will be a catered barbeque dinner, after which an auction will be held featuring many great sponsor-donated items. Some of the items included in the auction will be a new custom set of Hazardous Racing leathers, a Yamaha Champions Riding School pass, Yamaha and Yamalube products, NESBA track days and memberships, and many other items. A raffle will be held for a new set of custom painted Sharkskinz bodywork donated by Andrew Swenson Designs and a custom painted Arai helmet from Andrew Swenson designs. Also, commemorative T-shirts will be available for purchase. One hundred percent of all proceeds will be donated to the Roadracing World Action Fund and designated for the purchase of soft barriers for use at Road Atlanta. The cost for dinner is $20, t-shirts are $20, and raffle tickets are $20 each or three for $50. All auction items will be sold to the highest bidder. “Our fundraiser last year raised $20,000 and that was more successful than we ever imagined it would be. As a result we were able to purchase fourteen sections of soft barriers for Road Atlanta which not only helps protect our members, but they help protect everybody who rides a motorcycle at Road Atlanta,” said NESBA Southeast Region director John Allen. “It’s a worthy cause, and this year we hope to do even better.” Allen went on to say, “You don’t have to be a NESBA member or participate in our track day that weekend to attend. We want everyone to know they are welcome to come out and have dinner with us, and entry to the track is free. For only $20 you can have a great barbeque dinner with fellow riders and racers, and you’ll also be doing something good for our sport at the same time.” NESBA would like to thank all of our sponsor partners who are helping to make this fundraiser possible. Sponsors include Yamaha Motor Corporation, Yamaha Champions Riding School, Swett & Crawford, Andrew Swenson Designs, Sharkskinz, Irish Racing, Red Dog Drilling, Hazardous Racing Apparel, First Light Restaurant, Carolina Motorsports, Performance Cycleworx, Crosslin Racing, Allen Properties, Inc., and all of our NESBA members and staff.
