Motul® to Enjoy Increased Exposure in 2012 MotoGP Championship Season POMONA, CALIFORNIA — The 2012 season of the world’s premier motorcycle racing championship, MotoGP, will soon be upon us. Motul®, a leading brand of motorcycle lubricants, is once again ramping up their support of this exciting international racing series. MotoGP is the ultimate test for the finest talents in motorcycle racing and Motul has been an integral part of the championship for more than a third of the series’ 63-year history. Considered by the Motul brand as a vital test bench and living laboratory for its extensive line of motorcycle products, the brand has benefited from its direct involvement in MotoGP. Over the years, Motul has developed experimental oils designed specifically to deal with the extreme temperatures associated with GP engines. The information learned from this involvement directly affects the next evolution of products made available to consumers for their own motorcycles. In 2012, Motul will continue as technical partner for the 23rd year with Monster Yamaha Tech 3 and will be working closely with them on the new challenge that has come with the introduction of 1000cc engines. Monster Yamaha Tech 3 riders will include Andrea Dovizioso from Italy and Cal Crutchlow of Great Britain. Dovizioso finished third overall in the 2011 championship, while Crutchlow showed great potential by clinching last year’s “Rookie of the Year” title. The team will count on their experience and speed in its quest for a 2012 championship. Motul’s trackside presence will also be increased in 2012 through its commercial support of the MotoGP Championship with highly-visible signage at a greater number of circuits than ever before 14 of the 18 tracks visited. Motul ‘corners’ will be seen at the following rounds of the 2012 MotoGP: Portugal, Jerez, Catalunya and Motorland (all Spain), Great Britain, The Netherlands, Germany, Malaysia, Italy, France, Japan, USA, Czech Republic and Australia. Motul is also proud to continue its partnership with the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France for the 17th consecutive year at Le Mans. The race, held on May 20, is considered to be one of France’s major international sporting events. Motul is the number one motorcycle lubricant in Europe, and has a strong presence in more than 85 countries worldwide. MotoGP plays a key part in its marketing and sales strategies. During the 2012 racing season, MotoGP will visit thirteen countries and four continents. Nine nationalities of the world’s most skilled riders help to make up the grid which features cutting-edge prototype machinery. The eighteen-race series kicks-off with Round 1 in Qatar on Sunday, April 8.
