ADAC e.V. and ADAC Sachsen e.V. intensify their commitment to MotoGP™ in Germany

The Sachsenring remains the home of the German Grand Prix as MotoGP™, ADAC and ADAC Sachsen intensify their commitment to the event. The 2019 dates are the 5th to 7th July and ADAC will organise the Grand Prix in partnership with ADAC Sachsen.

“Securing the German Motorcycle Grand Prix is a matter of the heart for us,” says ADAC Sport President Hermann Tomczyk. “We are delighted that, in partnership with ADAC Sachsen, the Grand Prix can take place at the Sachsenring next year and that together with ADAC Sachsen we can start into a new era. In ADAC Sachsen we have a strong and reliable partner who has extensive experience in hosting motor sport events at the Sachsenring. Together with Dorna Sports, we have agreed that the Grand Prix will continue to be held at the Sachsenring. We have always strongly believed that the Sachsenring is the best race track for a Motorcycle Grand Prix in Germany, so we took the event to Saxony more than 20 years ago.”

“For us at ADAC Sachsen, being involved in one of the largest German motor sport events is a matter of course,” says Klaus Klötzner, Chairman of ADAC Sachsen. “Together with the ADAC head office in Munich, we have set all levers into motion to secure the future of the German MotoGP at the Sachsenring. We are proud to say that we have succeeded and that together we will organize the race at the Sachsenring. We shall endeavour to keep the all the long-standing partners involved in the organisation of the race on board in the future.”

“In the 20 plus years that ADAC e.V. has been our reliable partner, the German GP at the Sachsenring has become one of the most important races on the MotoGP calendar,” says Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna. “Following the developments of recent months, we are very pleased to keep the MotoGP at the Sachsenring in the future.”

The Sachsenring has been the venue of one of the biggest sporting events in Germany since 1998. In 2018, it attracted more than 190,000 fans – with another incredible Grand Prix now expected from the 5th to 7th July 2019.
