Bobby Fong joins Genuine Broaster Chicken / Honda for remainder of 2018

Team Transporter, CA – In what is probably the worst kept secret in the paddock over the last few days, we are pleased to announce the addition of Bobby Fong as the second rider for the remainder of the 2018 Season.

We’d like to thank Jayson Uribe for all his hard work during the west coast rounds. He really provided us the opportunity to put a second bike on the grid. His performance provided us with enough confidence that we could field a second machine for the rest of the season. Genuine Broaster Chicken / Honda has decided to continue with Jayson in the form of help with his remaining AFM Races aboard his own Honda CBR1000RR. We wish him well with his future in racing. Jayson is part of our extended family and will continue to coach at our sister organization, American Supercamp.

Bobby Fong brings a tremendous amount of skill and knowledge to our program that we are hoping to capitalize on in order to finish this season as strong as possible. As this is his first time on a Honda, we will be conducting a test between Sonoma and Pittsburgh to help familiarize him with his new ride.

Welcome to the team Bobby! Ride Red!!!

Bobby Fong – 50

“I’m very happy to be on-board the Genuine Broaster Chicken / Honda / RoadRace Factory team for the remainder of the season. I’ve known for a long time that they have a pretty tight family under their canopy. Everyone seems to get along and I can tell that they all work well with each other.

The Honda has seemed to make a lot of progress this season so I’m pretty excited to get on the bike and see what I can do! I’m going to give this opportunity a 110%. This is a new challenge for me as the Honda is completely unknown to me, so that gives me a lot of motivation to learn the bike and finish this season strong.

I’d like to thank Danny Walker and everyone at Genuine Broaster Chicken / Honda for providing this opportunity to me. I can’t wait to get going at Pittsburgh!”

Jayson Uribe – 36

“I’ve had a great experience with the RRF crew. Danny, Mick, Phil, Kirk, Scotty, Corey, and everybody has been so kind and supportive. I’m sad to call this my last race, but I’m leaving these guys with no hard feelings and nothing but great things to say about them.

I’ve ridden with Bobby for many many years, going back to the Supermoto days on my 65. He’s a great guy, and an incredible rider. I wish him the best of luck, and I hope that maybe he’ll share some secrets on how to go fast on that Honda.”

Scott Jensen – Team Crew Chief

“It was great to have Jayson on the team for the west coast rounds. He helped a lot with the development of our program and it’s incredible to have two bikes on the grid. I wish him the best in his racing career.

The addition of Booby is going to be a major boost for our program. Bobby brings a wealth of experience with him and I’m eager to tap into that knowledge. I feel that with his experience on multiple platforms, he’ll adapt quickly to the Honda and we’ll be up to speed fairly quickly.

Cam has shown the potential of the bike in the last few rounds and I’m looking forward to adding Bobby’s talent to compliment the program.”

Danny Walker – Team Principal

“Before I go too far, I’d like to thank Jayson for all his done for us in terms of helping us further our program. He’s a great talent, a member of the family, and I know we’ll see him again… we have a camp soon!

Getting Bobby was a very unexpected yet incredible opportunity. When you bring someone on-board you’re hoping that they have the depth of experience of someone like Bobby. He has experience on multiple platforms over several classes. To get him at the end of the season like this, is really going to help our program.

We are conducting one test ahead of Pittsburgh to get him acquainted to the bike as much as we can before the next round. I think as far as expectations go, I’d be happy to see us inside the top five in the remaining rounds. Cam and his crew have shown what the Honda can do and with Bobby’s inputs I’m hoping we can continue to close the gap to the front.”
