2016 Fastrack Academy II Concludes

FONTANA, CA – Fastrack Academy class of 2016 concludes in great fashion Sunday, November 27 at Auto Club Speedway with Team Toye’s Mike DeLoach taking the first place grand prize, a brand new KTM RC390. Daniel Mole, James Kivett, and Mitsu Ueda for a close second, third and fourth respectively.

Deloach comments: “The entire program was truly the experience of a lifetime for me. It was great fun, motivating and educational. I learned a lot and as a result I turned my best lap times while feeling very smooth, comfortable and consistent. My coaches were awesome and it was also great having my wife Jenn there with me this past weekend to enjoy the finals as well.”

This was the second year running of Fastrack Academy. New tests are added to the program each year as a surprise and this round there were two; Gymkhana and a real bicycle race.

“Watching the students increase their speed while decreasing the risk showed the effectiveness of this training program. Then, there was rain on the Gymkhana day and it just added to the degree of difficulty and made the test even more rigorous and more valuable. Additionally, the bicycle race under the extreme cold rain was a clear sign of how much effort the students were willing to put out in order to excel and improve their fitness level in the Academy,” said Jeremy Toye, Professional Road Racer and Fastrack Academy Coach runner up at last year’s finale but this year his top student earned him the Academy’s Best Coach Award.

Jeremy’s Assistant Coach Ademar Nunes adds: “I became good friends with every participant and would have been just as proud had any of the four finalists won the grand prize, but I wasn’t surprised Mike from our team took it. He did extremely well throughout.”

Preparations for Fastrack Academy 2017 are in the makings alongside with the all new Fastrack Racing University program scheduled to debut this coming January. Mr. Imad Samhat, Fastrack Rider’s owner notes: “Our customers will expect us to continue raising the bar for the 2017 Fastrack Academy III and our higher learnings programs. We are up to the challenge and we are confident that we will meet and exceed the expectations once again.”

About Fastrack Riders Academy

Fastrack Riders Academy, a TV show-style motorcycle riding skills competition coached by top professional racers. The coaches for 2016 are Eric Bostrom, Chris Ulrich, Jeremy Toye and Chris Fillmore.

Contestants who make the cut will be split up into four groups that work together during the program’s three days of instruction and exercises, then practice what they learned the following day at their own pace.

Near the end of the competition, a finalist is chosen from each team with their eyes on the grand prize, a new motorcycle. The winner is determined by coaches, as well as fans following the series via social media. Because the Academy program is not a race, its victor won’t necessarily be the fastest rider. Points are also awarded for exhibiting steady progress, consistency and safe performance.

The runner-up rolls home with five sets of Dunlop slicks; six months’ worth of free Fastrack trackdays will be awarded to the third-place finisher; a set of Chicken Hawk Racing tire warmers is the fourth-place prize; and Alpinestars riding gear will be won by the cast member who lands in fifth.

Last year’s champion, Anton Griessner, 48, from nearby Brea, California, and the rest of his team, were coached to victory by 2013 AMA Pro Roadracing XR1200 Champion and Daytona 200 winner Steve Rapp. For his efforts, Griessner, Vice President of Marketing for Maxon Lift Corp., won a 2015 KTM RC390 Cup motorcycle.
