Stefano Mesa swept the podium in the unlimited classes, winning all four of his races with CCS Florida May 4 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on his DMS prepped Kawasaki ZX-10R, and took his third consecutive Shootout victory of the season. “That start was insane,” said Mesa after the Unlimited Grand Prix race. Bruno Silva had nabbed the holeshot on his Kawasaki ZX-10R, and Mesa quickly made his move to take over the lead he would maintain for the entire six lap sprint race. Just behind him, Sean Dwyer was battling with Silva and planning his move to the front with his Suzuki GSX-R 1000. “Bruno’s really hard to pass,” stated Dwyer. “He’s got a tough riding style to follow. And, I couldn’t do anything with him.” Until lap three, when Dwyer went deep into turn six and around Silva to take over second place. They rode that way to the finish with Mesa taking his final victory of the day, followed by Dwyer, Silva, Rodolfo Ramirez, and Joshua Paladeni.

On the podium, Silva stated, “I got a good start. Stefano came by, and later, Dwyer. Those guys, they were on fire all the weekend. First time I hit 24’s here. So, I’m happy.”

“I just didn’t get a good start there,” said Dwyer. “And, honestly, Stefano’s on a roll. That bike is unreal. He’s riding really good. Congrats to Bruno and Stefano. These guys are top notch. I’d rather race these guys and get second or third than just smoke it out front. It makes us all better, and the competition’s a blast. So, thanks, guys!”

“We all rode an awesome race,” Mesa exclaimed. “This bike is working amazing. The DMS crew has been working so hard to get it there. Sean Dwyer has been my teacher for so long… how I’ve followed him. It’s always fun to ride with these guys. They’re always quick. It was just an amazing race. I just want to say thank you to: my team, DMS; my mechanic, Thermosman; my family and all my friends who came to support me; and, Dunlop tires for h aving so much grip and always gripping and never making me crash.” Mesa also won the Unlimited Supersport, GTO, and Unlimited Superbike classes. He will be competing next in round two of the AMA Pro Road Racing at Road America, May 30th – June 1st.

Two riders under the Moto Corse Performance banner also took home four first place trophies, joining Mesa as the winningest racers of the weekend. In the expert ranks, Charlie Mavros dominated the lightweight fields, winning the GT Lights, Ultralight Superbike, Lightweight Grand Prix, and Lightweight Superbike races. And, 17-year-old Boelo Lussenburg, Jr. dominated the amateur lightweight classes, winning GT Light, Lightweight Grand Prix, Lightweight Superbike, and Thunderbike.

CCS Florida racers will meet again to compete in the next event at Homestead-Miami Speedway schedule for June 21st – 22nd. Please visit www.ccsracing.us for complete results and point standings from this past weekend’s races, as well as additional information on all upcoming events.
