Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca CEO/GM Gill Campbell Will Be On AMA Pro Prime Time This Saturday

MONTEREY, Calif. (June 11, 2009) Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca announced that Gill Campbell, CEO/General Manager will be an in-studio guest on SpeedTV’s AMA Pro Prime Time which will air on Saturday, June 13 at 10 p.m. ET (7 p.m. PT). This show will feature a segment on the 2009 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix with the three classes of AMA Pro racing slated to run at the world renowned racetrack on July 3- 5: AMA SuperSport, AMA Daytona SportBike and AMA American SuperBike. The show also features the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing event from Road America, highlight coverage of other AMA Pro disciplines and a variety of in-studio and at-event features showcased on America’s leading motorsports television channel. “Beginning a new chapter with AMA Pro Racing, we welcome some of the best American riders to grace this famed facility and look forward to the great show that they provide,” said Gill Campbell, CEO/general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “I look forward to chatting with Ralph Sheehan on all the race activities associated with the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.” Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has a rich history of motorcycle racing starting with Cal Rayborn riding a Harley-Davidson to victory at the first AMA national race contested at the track in 1972 to Nicky Hayden (the youngest ever AMA Superbike Champion) on his victory lap with the American flag waving in 2005 to Ben Bostrom winning the 2008 AMA SuperSport Championship at last years race. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was established in 1957. The world-renowned raceway has been operated since its inception by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), a not-for-profit 501C(4) corporation. Each race season, SCRAMP donates its net proceeds to the volunteer groups that help put on the races. Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s world-class 2009 racing schedule includes the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix featuring MotoGP World Championship July 3-5, the 36th Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races August 14-16 and the Monterey Sports Car Championships featuring the American Le Mans Series October 9-11.
