Geoff May earned pole position for the CCS Unlimited Grand Prix Sunday morning at Virginia International Raceway with a lap of 1:26.946 on his Pirelli-shod Team M4 EMGO Suzuki GSX-R1000, beating Eric Wood’s 2003 lap record of 1:30.577. May’s teammate Michael Barnes qualified second with a time of 1:27.686 on his GSX-R1000. Rain is forecast for the area of VIR Sunday afternoon.
