Valencia, Spain – 9 November 2014: The Marc VDS Racing Team is pleased to announce that they will join forces with Estrella Galicia 0,0 for an assault on the MotoGP and Moto2 World Championships.

The Honda RC213V that Scott Redding will campaign in MotoGP will feature prominent Estrella Galicia 0,0 branding, as will the Moto2 machines of the newly crowned World Champion, Tito Rabat, and his teammate in 2015, Alex Marquez.

But the partnership is about much more than branding.

Estrella Galicia 0,0 have brought together two of the most successful teams in the Grand Prix paddock, with the Marc VDS Racing Team now working closely with the Monlau Team to provide a clear progression path for young riders, from their first steps in Pre-GP to MotoGP, the very pinnacle of the sport.

The collaboration will run initially for three years and will see Estrella Galicia 0,0 backed riders competing across all three World Championship classes as well as the CEV Moto3 series, the traditional feeder series for Grand Prix racing.

“The working partnership between Marc VDS and Monlau is an important one, not just for the two teams, but also for our sport as a whole. It means that talented young riders will be able to progress from grass roots racing to the very pinnacle of the sport within one structure, which hasn’t been possible before. Pre-GP and CEV Moto3 are the best training grounds for potential Grand Prix riders, but we will not be limiting our scope to Spanish riders, we will be looking for talented riders of all nationalities to join the program.”

“This partnership wouldn’t have been possible without the vision of Ignacio Rivera and his team at Estella Galicia 0,0. They share the passion and goals common to both Marc VDS and Monlau, which is why it is such a pleasure for us to be working together with them.”

“In addition, it is only because of the support of Estrella Galicia that we’ve been able to make the move to MotoGP with a factory Honda RC213V, one of only four on the grid next season. For this I would like to offer Ignacio my personal thanks, because he was on board with this project from day one.”

Returning to the Marc VDS Racing Team to spearhead their assault on the MotoGP World Championship is Scott Redding. For the 21-year-old Briton it will be something of a homecoming, having fought for the Moto2 World Championship as part of the team just 12 months ago.

“I raced for four years in Moto2 with Marc VDS, so returning to the team is like coming home for me,” declared Scott. “They’ve moved on in the year I’ve been away, winning the Moto2 World Championship and then putting together a team to move up to MotoGP. It’s a strong team, and the partnership with Estrella Galicia will only make it even stronger. I’m looking forward to testing the factory Honda RC213V on Monday, in our all-new new Estrella Galicia livery.”

The newly crowned Moto2 World Champion, Tito Rabat, will remain with the Marc VDS Racing Team, returning to defend his crown in 2015.

Next year I will be the first rider ever to return to defend the number one plate in Moto2,” explains Tito. “They say defending a championship is harder than winning it in the first place, but I am looking forward to the challenge. I hope that we can repeat the success of this year, to repay the faith shown in both me and the team by our new partners, Estrella Galicia.”

Rabat will be joined at Marc VDS next season by Alex Marquez, who currently leads the Moto3 World Championship standings and could well be crowned champion in Valencia on Sunday.

“We are excited to get this new adventure underway on Monday, when we start testing with Scott Redding and the Honda RC213V, but first we need to bring to a close our 2014 season, which I hope will finish with a Marc VDS one-two in the Moto2 World Championship standings, and the number one plate in Moto3 for our new partners, Monlau,” concluded Bartholemy.
