For the past several months the Motorcycle Roadracing Association (MRA) has been aware of pressure from other local groups to re-open the RFP related to the operation of Pueblo Motorsports Park. As a long time user of the facility, the MRA has been involved in city hearings and meetings to assure that our operation remains viable.

Pueblo Motorsports Park is the longest continuously visited track on the MRA calendar, and is a favorite of a number of our racers. The Pueblo rounds are an important piece of our 7 round season and the course at Pueblo Motorsports Park presents variety to our members and racers.

MRA President, Jim Wilson, remains positive. “One of the challenges we have is that we’ve already scheduled our season. We’ve booked dates for 2016 with Faasst Motorsports for Pueblo Motorsports Park, so we’ve engaged both the Pueblo City Council President and City Manager to request that a part of the RFP include a requirement to honor those dates.” In a follow-up with one of the potential future operators it looks like this request has been honored, as they have already stated that if they win the contract they will honor both dates that Faasst committed for the upcoming season.

“The RFP opens onJanuary 1st and we’re looking forward to this turbulent time settling down once a new track operator is selected” said Wilson.

The Motorcycle Roadracing Association is dedicated to promoting safe and competitive motorcycle road racing events for enthusiasts in Colorado and the surrounding area. For more information go to http://www.mra-racing.org/
