FEATURED IN THE NOVEMBER 2018 ISSUE OF ROADRACING WORLD…

Kris Turner is one experienced racer. Starting out in motocross at age three, he switched to road racing at the age of 13 with CMRA, then WERA, then the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup series, then AMA Pro SuperSport and Daytona Sportbike.

But racing takes its toll, and without the support he needed to continue, Turner was burned out from trying to field a competitive program on his own. Exhausted, Turner turned away from the sport.

After six years out of professional racing, Turner turned on the TV and watched the combined MotoGP and MotoAmerica AMA/FIM North American Superbike Series event at COTA on TV, and realized how much he missed racing. So he bought a very well-used track-day Suzuki SV650 for $1,500 and, with help from his dad, went to work building it into a racebike for the new MotoAmerica Twins Cup. The rest, as they say, is history…
