‘Kickstand City’ Returns To Daytona International Speedway For ‘Bike Week’ 2006

Daytona 200 Week: The Ultimate Destination For Bikers Kickstand City To Feature Overnight Parking, Demo Rides, Displays And More DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (March 1, 2006) — There will be more things to do at historic Daytona International Speedway than watching the thrilling motorcycle racing on the 2.95-mile road course. “The World Center of Racing” will once again host Kickstand City on March 3-11. In addition to offering a wide-variety of overnight parking packages, Daytona International Speedway will offer several must-see activities for any motorcycle enthusiast. · Free demo rides: Outside of historic Daytona International Speedway, motorcycle enthusiasts can test-ride the latest and greatest motorcycles with free manufacturer demo rides. Motorcycle enthusiasts can check out displays and demo rides from manufacturers such as Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph, Buell, Yamaha, BMW, Harley Davidson, Victory, Vespa, Boss Hoss and Bourget Bike Works and more. Riders must hold a valid motorcycle driver license and DOT approved helmet in order to participate in the demo rides. A selected amount of demo rides will run March 3 -12 with all manufacturers participating March 6 12, from 9 am to 5 pm. · Inaugural International Speedway Bike Show: On Thursday, March 9 inside the NEXTEL FANZONE in the infield of historic DIS, the Speedway will host the inaugural International Speedway Bike Show, a first in the series of bike shows produced and managed by Bikers Atlas and The International Master Bike Builders Association. There will be 12 classes of bikes competing for prizes and trophies. Food, beverages and entertainment will conclude the show. Judging will be by a panel of highly respected judges directed by Master Judge Jeff Starke. · Speedway Poker Run: On Wednesday, March 9, this one of a kind poker run will wind along the beautiful intercoastal waterway making stops at five unique Daytona-area businesses and ending with a parade style lap around Daytona International Speedway. Prizes will be awarded in the NEXTEL FANZONE inside the historic infield. Food, beverages and live entertainment will be available after the completion of the run. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp.
