More, from a press release issued by MotorSport Vision: HALSALL RACING KAWASAKI SIGN BRIDEWELL TO EXPAND THEIR TEAM TO TWO RIDERS Halsall Racing Kawasaki have announced that they have expanded their team to field two riders in the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship, signing Tommy Bridewell to join Lee Costello ahead of the next round of the season at Oulton Park on 9/10/11 August. The team progressed to the championship this season and had their most successful round of their campaign to date last weekend at Brands Hatch when Costello scored a twelfth place in the opening race. Bridewell’s move to Halsall Racing comes just after the recent arrival of experienced manager Jack Valentine to the ambitious team. Bridewell was a contender in the Showdown last season and has previously been a podium finisher in the championship. Bridewell said: “I’m massively excited to be joining the Halsall crew. It feels like a refreshing re-start to the season for me and this is just what I need. For various reasons, so far 2013 hasn’t gone the way I wanted it to but this is just what I needed. My focus is 100% and I feel really good. It’s exciting to be part of an up and coming team like Halsall Racing and I’m looking forward to working alongside Lee. I have a few years of experience in BSB now and I believe together we can really help develop the team and the bike. I’m delighted to have been given this chance to be a part of such an exciting project.” Team Manager Jack Valentine said: “It’s fantastic news that Tommy has joined the team. Martin and I are both fully committed to taking the team forward and we knew we needed an experienced front runner to help us make this happen. I’ve always been an admirer of Tommy; he had an excellent season last year and for us as a team, getting the opportunity to run him is excellent. I believe this will be a great move for all of us. Lee is already doing a great job and now that we have secured Tommy we can move even further forward with our plans to make Halsall Racing Kawasaki a strong and competitive team.” Team Owner Martin Halsall concluded: “When we heard that Tommy was available we knew that this was the perfect opportunity for us to work together. He will join us at Oulton Park and we are all looking forward to it. We had always intended to be two bike team, and the chance to work with Tommy came just at the right time.” For more information please visit www.britishsuperbike.com More, from another press release issued by MotorSport Vision: QBSD MOTORSPORT AND POOLE DIVE INTO MCE BRITISH SURPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP The MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship will feature a new team on the grid from the next round of the season at Oulton Park on 9/10/11 August as the QBSD Motorsport team have today (Thursday) announced that Jamie Poole will move into the premier class for the second half of the season. The Kettering based team which also operates in the prestigious Spanish CEV Repsol Championship, has big aspirations in only their first season as QBSD Motorsport, but with the combined experience of Mark Quelch and Poole they are determined to succeed and have long term goals for the Superbike class. Poole has been a contender in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship this season, however the team have decided to make the progression into the Superbike class at the halfway point of their campaign in order to build foundations for next season and are feeling determined ahead of their MCE BSB debut. Poole said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to progress and to move into the Superbike class; it has been an aspiration of mine since I started racing and it is for most of the riders in this paddock. We are a new team and after a frustrating start to the Superstock season we decided that we should make the step as the benefits for our partners are so much more in the top class. I hope that it will actual inspire some other riders and teams too as we have seen from Halsall Racing and GBmoto that you can make the progression and with hard work get results. “At Oulton Park we will obviously been in at the deep end, but sometimes that is the best way to be. I look on this season as laying some foundations for the future in the Championship. We will be more Stock based than some of the other teams, but with the Motec ECU, the new slick 17 inch Pirelli tyres that will become mandatory next year, and some new front forks that really is the main difference. There is a perception that it takes more than that but the technical rules make it easy to move up and for us this challenge is what we need to take the team to the next level,” added Poole. Mark Quelch concluded: “The team moving into the Superbike Championship was something that was mentioned at Snetterton and it soon gained momentum. We investigated all avenues of bike and rider but we decided to stay with the ZX10 and Jamie. This enables the team to get valuable experience in the class with a view of bringing in a higher profile rider next year. We are very excited but realise the transition is going to be very hard work.” The team will continue to field Australians Bryce Van Hoof and Benjamin Currie in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 and 600 Championships respectively. The family has been in racing for five decades as Todd’s father in-law Lucien Wegner is a former AMA enduro and road racer. Running a shop full-time is quite an endeavor, and I’ve been able to make it a success with the help of my wife Tina, but racing has always been my true passion. The Vance & Hines Harley class lets guys like me get back out there with a chance to make a little money, compete with old friends on equal, affordable racebikes and I look forward to racing in front of the huge crowd at the Brickyard. The dyno runs I’ve pulled on my shop’s Dynojet Model 250 I show my machine is now on par with what I expected. You always are looking for more, but we are ready and may do some events before this one. Indy will go down in history as one of my biggest events ever, and I sure would like to bring home a Trophy to display in the BSB showcase. Currently I’m talking with Harley-Davidson centers across the nation and other potential sponsors to get on board and help support my team at this World Championship-caliber event. Also, I’d like to mention a get well soon to the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series director Jim Leonard who was involved in street accident …see you at Indy!” Todd’s personal sponsors are: Arai, EBC Brakes, Sharkskinz, Vortex, Engine Ice, Speed and Strength, Amsoil, Liquid Graphics, CTR Suspension, Brevard Superbike, and Keesee Racing.
