More, from a press release issued by CRA:

The Central Roadracing Association joins the wider motorsports community in sending condolences to the family of Jed Copham and mourning his tragic loss. Jed was a true racer and so many racers in the US were able to experience great things at Brainerd International Raceway simply because he shared his passion with the rest of his fellow racers. While we mourn his passing, we will always cherish the many experiences we have all shared with him.

There aren’t many track owners in the world who you can stuff into a corner in a pitbike race or watch with amazement as he powers down BIR’s notorious front straight in a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera at more than 215mph. You also wouldn’t expect to be elbow-to-elbow with the track owner at the Wheelie Bar or waking up everyone at 2am with massive fireworks. Jed’s passion allowed us all to enjoy one of our favorite pastimes and better yet, he was right there with us joining in the fun. His enthusiasm and antics will truly be missed by the entire motorsports community and while the man may be gone, the legend will always live on.
