Renowned and experienced motorsports announcer Jonathan Green will be in the booth alongside World Superbike Champion Scott Russell for the CBS Sports Network broadcasts of GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing events. Chet Burks, president of the production company that will be creating the broadcasts, called the pairing of Green and Russell in the booth, along with Danielle Teal in the pits, as a strong lineup and a fresh presentation of the sport to the television audience. “I think it’s a new lineup, but these folks have pretty strong credentials and will bring the sport to us in a strong manner,” Burks told Roadracingworld.com Wednesday. Green is well-known to motorcycle road racing fans as the voice of World Superbike broadcasts, and he has served as a commentator for MotoGP racing as well as Formula One car racing. Russell, also an AMA Superbike Champion and a five-time winner of the Daytona 200, has served as an announcer for SPEED TV for several seasons. Teal, who has covered motorcycle road racing for several years, will serve as pit reporter, Burks says. Last month, CBS Sports Network and AMA Pro Racing reached agreement to broadcast AMA Pro Road Racing events through 2014 in conjunction with Chet Burks Productions. The agreement means the broadcast of National Guard Superbike and GoPro Daytona SportBike races either live or during weekend afternoon time slots, in addition to encore broadcasts and weekend preview shows. CBS Sports Network is available across the country through local cable, video and telco providers and via satellite on DirecTV Channel 613 and Dish Network Channel 158.
