Anthony Gobert has worn out his welcome at Ducati Austin, team insiders say.

The eldest of three racing Gobert brothers was a no-show at the team’s gala grand opening celebration during the off-season, at which he was supposed to be the center of attention, and then failed to show up for a recent team test at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

Gobert parked his Ducati during both Superbike races on Sunday at Infineon Raceway.

The team is currently looking at alternatives and is said to be seriously considering Lee Acree.

How Acree will be able to get out of his personal commitment to Arclight Suzuki remains to be seen.

A shared-ride situation with Acree riding for Arclight in F-USA races and for Ducati Austin in AMA events would probably not work, since the two teams have conflicting motorcycle and tire sponsors, and since Arclight has commitments to compete in AMA events at VIR and Barber.
