JILTED ROYALTY BACK GARY MASON AND PRIME FACTORS RACING FOR SUPERSTOCK 1000 CAMPAIGN

12 February 2016 – British Superbike rider Gary Mason will be making a return to the paddock with Jilted Royalty BMW in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship, as announced at the London Motorcycle Show today.

Mason has an experienced Superbike CV, having raced in the American and MCE British Superbike series’ , riding for many different official and privateer teams, with a well fought podium in ‘BSB’ among many strong placings.

For this season the determined Lichfield racer will be fighting for honours in the highly competitive Superstock class, against a strong field of riders, including several ex Champions.

Jilted Royalty is the new title sponsor for Surrey based team Prime Factors Racing who last year competed in the FIM Endurance World Championship. The lifestyle clothing company is renowned for its cutting edge lines and has a distinctive character all of its own. Mason raced for the team throughout the 2015 Endurance series.

The team retain BMW Motorrad backing with their S1000RR machine which they have developed in Endurance racing but with crucial differences for the National Superstock series. Prime Factors Motorcycles specialise in performance tuning for road, race and trackday riders, so this race entry gives the perfect platform to demonstrate their capabilities. They will also have a presence at selected BSB rounds showcasing their own services and Alpha Racing products, which they distribute.

Mason will be supported by Terry Rymer, who has won both the British Superbike and World Endurance Championship.

Prime Factors Racing Team Manager Bruce Charman commented “Gary has great experience in the Superbike race paddock and it will be interesting to see how quickly he can mix it up with the Superstock regulars in what is undoubtedly a highly competitive field.

We have great technical support from BMW Motorrad UK and welcome the new investment from Jilted Royalty, who are strong backers of Gary. We have much to do after announcing our final plans at such a late stage but are now all focused on giving Gary the best package available to be competitive.”

Gary Mason added, “I’ve really missed the BSB paddock and although the Endurance racing has been great, I’m looking forward to mixing it up with the Superstock lads elbow to elbow!

Obviously I got to ride the BMW S1000RR in Superstock spec with Prime Factors but it will need some fettling for sprint racing. It’s cool to have Terry with me, he’s someone who’s advised me over the years and big thanks to the guys from Jilted Royalty for their support. Let’s go racing!”
