DENVER, Colo. (April 12, 2012) – With the addition of the Yamaha/NESBA Demo Rides, M1 PowerSports has added yet another opportunity for fans to get in on the action during this month’s Triumph Big Kahuna Atlanta presented by Dunlop Tire and LeoVince. All that is required to check out the 2.55-mile historic road course at Braselton, Georgia’s Road Atlanta from behind the handlebars is a valid driver’s license, full-face helmet, gloves, boots, jeans and a riding jacket when M1 PowerSports and AMA Pro Road Racing roll into town next weekend, April 20-22, 2012. “As I’ve said before, our mission is to ‘Get People to the Track’ and now we’ve upped the ante,” said Cameron Gray, CEO of M1 PowerSports. “Thanks to our new partnership with NESBA, fans can actually get on the track for a firsthand look at exactly what the AMA Pro Road Racing riders are experiencing during the Big Kahuna weekend.” There are a total of five Yamaha models to choose from, including the brand’s flagship line, the Yamaha YZF-R1, which Josh Hayes has piloted to back-to-back AMA Pro National Guard SuperBike championships in the last two seasons. The full-fairing 600cc model that recently took home victory at the hands of Joey Pascarella in last month’s Daytona 200, the Yamaha YZF-R6, will also be available. Fans that prefer the look of a naked motorcycle will have the opportunity to hop on the Japanese marque’s FZ1, FZ8 or FZ6r for a few laps. “For M1 PowerSports and Yamaha to give NESBA the opportunity to offer test rides to the AMA Pro Racing fans is extremely innovative and exciting,” said Bob Blandford, President of NESBA. “It is my hope that we are able to continue to provide this service to the motorcycling community, as it really gives riders a chance to experience the motorcycles in an environment that highlights the potential of each machine.” Demo rides will be offered twice during each day of on-track activity; Friday from 9:00-9:20 a.m. and 6:15-6:45 p.m.; Saturday from 11:05-11:15 a.m. and 5:30-6:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 10:00-10:15 a.m. and 4:30-4:45 p.m. There is no cost to participate in the Yamaha/NESBA Demo Laps and fans are welcome to take as many laps as they would like during the allotted time period. A valid driver’s license, full-face helmet, gloves, boots, jeans and a riding jacket are required and NESBA reserves the right to deny anyone from participating in the demo ride if they feel the individual has been drinking or could pose a safety risk on or off the track. Sign up online at www.nesba.com or visit the NESBA display booth at Road Atlanta, conveniently located in the main paddock area near the Historic Moto Grand Prix. Tickets for the Triumph Big Kahuna Atlanta begin at just $20 and that event is just the first of three M1 PowerSports-promoted events on the 2012 AMA Pro Road Racing calendar which make up the 2012 Triumph Big Kahuna Triple Crown. About NESBA: The Northeast Sportbike Association (NESBA) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization, formed in 1996 by sport bike enthusiasts and former racers who understand and appreciate the difference between riding fast and riding well. Our purpose is to get sportbikers on the track – where they can ride to their fullest potential without the limitations, distractions, and hazards of the street. We operate on the premise, “Ride Fast, Ride Safe.” We believe riders can and should do both … in a structured environment, free from the free-for-all mentality of the street or the dogfight mentality of racing. About M1 PowerSports, formerly M1 Entertainment: A Denver-based company, M1 PowerSports has been working in motorsports for over 16 years. Originally spawned from Daniels Corporation under the name FAST, the fledgling company was heavily involved in television production for car and motorcycle racing. With the birth of Speedvision, FAST morphed into Race Promotion Management (RPM) and is now operating as M1 PowerSports with many of the same staff still in place. We still sell advertising for Speed, sell merchandise under the brand Moto 1 and promote our own events, keeping us busy year-round!
