MAVTV Taps Former MTV/ESPN/Disney Exec Dan Teitscheid

CORONA, Calif. – MAVTV has announced that Dan Teitscheid has joined the network as VP of Content Distribution & Partner Marketing. A 30-year veteran of the television industry, Teitscheid spent 16 years with Viacom, rising to Vice President of Affiliate Sales and Marketing at MTV Networks before joining Disney and ESPN Media Networks in May 2008. During the course of his career, Mr. Teitscheid has been involved in the introduction, launch and brand development of more than 25 cable TV networks.

Bob Patison, MAVTV’s President, said the addition of Teitscheid illustrates MAVTV’s commitment to affiliate relations and highlights efforts to increase the awareness and growth of the network. “With MAVTV’s rapid growth we are greatly expanding our brand awareness, marketing efforts, and distribution outlets,” Patison said. “MAVTV is now ‘the’ destination channel for motorsports, and we produce a very powerful product for today’s marketplace. Dan will be essential in the development of the brand, its partnerships, and the expansion of the network throughout the country.”

Teitscheid said, “I’m looking forward to this incredible opportunity to launch a network who’s programming is in high demand by the many thousands of race fans and auto enthusiasts in America. MAVTV, as the destination for all motorsports, truly fills one of the few remaining voids in today’s crowded TV channel line-ups. My job will be to get the MAVTV story in front of the programming acquisition executives and develop opportunities for them to take advantage of the incredibly valuable audience that MAVTV can deliver.

MAVTV is a television network with its roots deep in the automotive world. With an unparalleled lineup of motorsports events and exclusive automotive reality shows, MAVTV is the answer for motor-heads from all walks of life. With programming currently available in more than 27 million households, the network is pushing to reach 50 million households in the next two years. MAVTV is owned by Lucas Oil.
