Hosted at the prestigious Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire, round twelve sees the Moto2 Championship head to the home of Caterham for the British Grand Prix.

Steeped in history, Silverstone is renowned for its continuing commitment to the motorsport industry and impressive state of the art facilities.
One of the fastest tracks on the calendar, its layout includes eight left corners and ten right corners, as well as a straight reaching 0.478 miles long.

#5 Johann Zarco: “The track at Silverstone is really nice because the corners are very fast and the change in direction flows. The tarmac is also good whether the conditions are wet or dry.
I like this kind of track because I can play with speed and last year I was fast every practice.

“My target in Brno was high and I did not do so well, so initially I wanted the time to go quickly so I could get to Silverstone, but now I am much more settled. I realised that I must stop and take a minute to reflect on my previous performance, then use this to be as prepared as possible for this next race.

“My motivation is very good, I’m focused and if the feeling on the bike is good too, I have everything I need to push to catch the best possible result.”

#2 Josh Herrin: “I have never been to Silverstone before so it will be another challenge to learn the track, but I’m confident that I can get to grips with it quickly. I’ve heard it’s quite a fast track and this definitely suits my riding style better.

“At the last round I struggled a bit through practice and qualifying to get into the top twenty, but in the race I proved that I have the pace to fight for the points; I just need to qualify better so we don’t have to battle our way through from the back.

“I have been training very hard in the gym while staying in England so I am feeling both physically and mentally prepared. I know I have to come out strong from the start and this is what I will do.”

Mia Sharizman – Team Principal: “Racing at Silverstone will be a very special occasion for Caterham as it will be the first time the brand name has raced on two wheels in the UK. It is a momentous occasion for all of us in the team as well as the Caterham Group. Furthermore, Silverstone is the nearest circuit from the team base in Leafield.

“We are expecting to have a lot of support from everyone at Caterham Group this weekend and we hope to do them proud by giving them a podium finish. I am sure both riders and the team will join me in pushing to the limit and produce a performance at Silverstone that all individuals associated with Caterham in the UK will be proud off.”
