The FIM CEV Repsol comes to the legendary Circuito de Jerez
The FIM CEV Repsol arrives this week at the legendary Jerez circuit, one of the obligatory events of the championship since its inception in 1998. Preparations at Jerez are well underway to host the FIM CEV Repsol contingent, as well as the biker fanatics who pack the paddock every year to relish the skills of the top young riders of the motorcycling world. A hundred riders representing twenty seven nationalities have confirmed their attendance this weekend.
Arón Canet (SPA-Honda) will be arriving brimming with confidence after his victory in the previous race at Navarre. With a 40-point lead in the overall standings, the Junior Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 rider has to be considered the strongest candidate for the title. But nothing is decided yet, with two races awaiting the Moto3™ Junior World Championship riders both in Jerez and Valencia, the last event of the season. Behind Canet come Joan Mir (SPA-Ioda-Honda) and Nicolò Bulega (ITA-KTM) dicing at the moment for the runner-up slot, with only a point between them in the points table. Completing the top five are Khairul Pawi (MAL-TSR Honda) and Albert Arenas (SPA-Husqvarna), who has earned 90 points so far.
In the Moto2™ European Championship, Edgar Pons (SPA-Kalex) comes to Jerez as leader of the category. Xavi Vierge (SPA-Tech 3) is holding on to second position in the overall standings, thanks to a streak of wins and second place finishes in the last four races. It will be interesting to see how the two strong men of the category fare in Jerez after their recent World Championship experiences in Asia. With around 90 points in the overall results are Alan Techer (FRA-Tech3), Luca Marini (ITA-Kalex) and Steven Odeendal (RSA-Kalex). All of them have performed well this season and have got onto the podium at least on one occasion, so the battle for third place is still wide open. Marcos Ramírez (SPA-Yamaha) holds a 21-point lead in the overall Superstock 600 standings. However, this weekend he will be riding for Team Stratos in Moto2™, so his lead could be threatened by nearest rival Abián Santana (SPA-Yamaha) who returns to racing in Jerez after missing the last two outings.
With a cushion of 64 points Carmelo Morales (SPA-Yamaha) comes to Jerez to dispute the two Superbike European Championship races scheduled for the weekend. Trailing him in the points table are Robertino Pietro (VEN-Yamaha) – presumably still happy with his victory in Navarre after his spot-on choice of tyres – and Iván Silva (SPA-BMW), who will miss this event as he is still recovering from injury. With 96 points and three podiums to his credit, Adrián Bonastre (SPA-BMW) will be giving his best to take advantage of this opportunity. Eeki Kuparinen (FIN-BMW) is the new leader of the privateer category, just four points ahead of Pierre Texier (FRA-Kawasaki).

As ever, access to the paddock will be free this weekend. In addition, FIM CEV Repsol fans can go on Sunday to the security office at the main entrance to the Circuito de Jerez to pick up a pass to take part in the Pit Lane Walk that takes place before the start of racing.
From Spain, races can be seen live via the MotoGP Channel of Movistar+ which will broadcast all of the races scheduled in the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, Moto2™ European Championship and Superbike European Championship categories. The Energy channel of Mediaset Spain will also cover the FIM CEV Repsol, broadcasting the Moto3™ Junior World Championship races, the Moto2™ European Championship race, and the first of the Superbike European Championship races. BT Sports (UK) and Eurosport through Eurosportplayer (France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland), will also offer coverage of the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, Moto2™ European Championship and Superbike European Championship races, with live broadcasts of each of the races scheduled for this weekend on one of their TV channels or via digital broadcast. In Italy, Sky will broadcast live both races of the Moto3™ Junior World Championship, as well as the Moto2™ European Championship race.
Race highlights will have a global reach through FOX (Asia and Australia) and ESPN Deportes (Latin America).
