The AMA National at Road America continued a season-long trend, with fewer riders entering the event this year compared to the same event in 2003, despite better weather in 2004.

Entries in the Superbike and Supersport classes were each up by 8 riders, 2003 versus 2004. But Formula Xtreme was down by 6 riders and Superstock was down by 19 riders.

The 250cc Grand Prix class, eliminated at the end of last season, drew 26 riders in 2003.
