Triple Threat Racing Podiums at Road Atlanta Cycle Jam

Triple Threat Racing team members had 4 podium finishes at Road Atlanta during the Wera Cycle Jam National and Sportsman Series races.

Tim Hunt started the weekend off in a good way by qualifying his Yamaha YZF-R6 Sixth on the grid for Sundays National Wera 600 Superstock race. Saturday Tim was victorious in the Senior Superbike Middleweight race on his Yamaha YZF-R6. Apex Race Services Lee Farmer finished just behind him in third place on his Yamaha YZF-R6, putting Apex riders in two of the three top spots for that class. Tim Hunt finished his weekend off strong with another Podium in B Superbike Expert, and a fourth in 600 Superbike Expert.

Amateur Chase Mollak’s spent Friday learning the ins and outs of the technical and sometimes fiesty Road Atlanta. This was Chase’s first weekend racing his Yamaha YZF-R6. Chase like mentor Tim Hunt was able to put his Yamaha YZF-R6 on the box on Saturday, with a second place finish in the 600 Superbike Novice race.

Expert Lee Farmer also had a complicated weekend. He also spent Friday learning the technical Road Atlanta. This was Lee’s First weekend on his Yamaha YZF-R6 since switching manufactures. Lee was able to score a podium finish on Saturday with his Third place finish in The Senior Superbike Middleweight race.

Hunt and Farmer had a productive weekend testing and prepping their new Yamaha YZF-R6s for the Triumph Superbike Classic round with AMA Pro Road Racing scheduled for June 21-22 at Barber Motorsports Park.

Team Quotes

Laura Ellis – Team Owner

“I’m thrilled with the performance of our two top riders, Hunt and Mollak. Both are having a great season so far. We are paying close attention to their pre-race nutrition and hydration with systems designed for high performance athletes and it’s definitely paying off. So many teams focus on tuning the bikes only–we tune the riders as well.”

Tim Hunt – Triple Threat team rider and Owner Apex Race Services

“Leigh and I are very happy to have the group of racers and friends we have on our team. Everyone on the crew performed great. We strive to give our Riders the best possible machines to compete on and this weekend our crew delivered!! I want to thank everyone involved for their support and help. Especially our sponsors Dunlop tires, Arai Helmets, Ballistik Motorcycle Apparel, medAge, Vesrah, GPR, MotoHeaven, CEPsports.com, H2ProHydrate, Apex Race Services and TT Motosport, .”

Chase Mollak – Rider

“I had a great time with my Triple Threat/Apex Race Services team at the WERA Cycle Jam. Road Atlanta is a new track to me and very technical. I was happy that I was able to bring home a podium finish for not only myself but for my team!! Thanks to all my sponsors. MedAge for keeping us healthy, Ballistik Motorcycle Apparel for always saving my skin, Arai Helmets, Dunlop, CEP sportswear, H2ProHydration, Triple Threat Racing, Apex Race Services and TT Motosport.”

Lee Farmer – Rider

“It was a bit of a challenging weekend for me. Racing a track I have never ridden before and switching from Triumph to Yamaha. Friday was a bit frustrating but by Saturday it was all starting to come together. Sunday was a solemn day with the loss of a friend and fellow racer Andy White. I am happy to close out the weekend with a podium, and am looking forward to racing Barber AMA.”
