DUCATI NORTH AMERICA BOASTS OVER 65% INCREASE IN MOTORCYCLE RELATED PRODUCT SALES Cupertino, CA – Ducati, the Italian motorcycle company world famous for crafting high-performance race, street, and touring bikes, announced an amazing start to 2006 in apparel and accessory sales. January and February year to date motorcycle related product (MRP) sales were up 66% over 2005 with the real highlights being an increase of 130% in accessories and 215% in apparel. This is largely due to the launch of several new motorcycles including the Sport Classics and Monster S2R 1000, both of which have dedicated accessories and apparel to accompany the bikes. “This is really one of the greatest times to be a Ducatisti,” said Greg Zanghi, National Aftersales Director. “There are so many hot new products available through your local Ducati dealers. Of course exhaust systems are always at the top of everyone’s list but the Ducati apparel is doing extremely well for us too, mainly because it’s Italian and like the bikes, is extremely stylish. The clothes are all designed in Italy and even if you don’t ride, you’ll look great in them.” The early success of the MRP business puts Ducati North America in an excellent position as the company heads into the spring and summer months, which are the busiest times of year for motorcycle dealers. Thanks to early stocking programs and prompt delivery, Ducati dealerships are well prepared for the increased demand in the coming months. Zanghi added, “DNA is working hard to bring positive stocking programs to our network to coincide with the launch of new motorcycles. It is a great time for dealers and customer to benefit. This success shows the hard work and dedication of the DNA MRP team and our Dealer Network.” Founded in 1926, Ducati builds racing-inspired motorcycles characterized by unique engine features, innovative design, advanced engineering and overall technical excellence. The Company produces motorcycles in six market segments which vary in their technical and design features and intended customers: Superbike, Supersport, Monster, Sport Touring, Multistrada and the new SportClassic. The Company’s motorcycles are sold in more than 60 countries worldwide, with a primary focus in the Western European, Japan and North American markets. Ducati has won thirteen of the last fifteen World Superbike Championship titles and more individual victories than the competition put together.
