TOBC Racing’s Danny Eslick Wins the Daytona 200 Again!

Danny Eslick was victorious once again in the 77th running of the Daytona 200 this past weekend at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Eslick is now a four time Daytona 200 winner after riding his TOBC Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 to a thrilling finish on Saturday.

Michelle Lindsay, TOBC Racing’s owner, in a bit of disbelief from her third 200 win, shared this, “In true endurance race fashion, this weekend was full of plenty of curveballs. From a blown motor, and a tough location on our initial pit, it started to feel like things were not going to go our way. But thanks to incredible teamwork from our phenomenal crew of Crew Chief Rick Matheny, Ronnie Saner, Phil Allison, Chris Tullock, Bobby Johnson, Michael Pope, Fast Frank, Myles Wilson, Niki Parks, and Mr. CJ Cohen, we prevailed.

“And of course, Mr. Danny ‘Slick’ Eslick for being able to get the absolute best out of any machine you give him. We pulled through and Danny rode his heart out. On Friday, we blew our motor during qualifying session 2, and had to get our used back up motor into the bike before qualifying session 3. Although Danny had gotten the provisional pole, the back up motor was not where it needed to be, so after Q3, he was in 4th.

“The crew worked into the night to squeeze a couple more horsepower out of the back up motor for Danny. When the race started, the work paid off, and he was leading the race went the first red flag was thrown. However, on the grid for the restart, he was placed on the wrong grid position, and overcame that just in time for the second red flag.

“Once again, he got a great start and took over the lead. We were on the edge of our seats as the final laps ticked down, and I was holding my breath. It was such a great finish and I couldn’t be prouder of my pit crew or Danny for putting forth such a phenomenal effort.

“We also couldn’t have done it without the help of our sponsors: Gaeltek Technology LLC, Sexilass Clothing, Politis & Matovina, PA, American Flat Track, Dunlop, Yamaha, Full Spectrum Power, Chris Kruzel and Drippin Wet, Engine Ice, VP Race Fuels, Scott Harrell, Shane Hill, Tim Anderson, and special thanks to Steve Korol from Evol Tech!”

Dunlop Hits 30 at Daytona

Buffalo, NY: The 77th running of the fabled Daytona 200 produced a familiar face atop the final podium: Danny Eslick dominated the race on his TOBC Racing Yamaha R6 to take his fourth Daytona 200 victory.

Eslick, averaged 95.834 mph, and credited his crew with their preparation of a spare engine forced into use after the team’s first engine failed during Friday’s qualifying.

Eslick’s victory marked the 30th time a Dunlop rider has won the Daytona 200. Daytona has an open-class tire rule—riders can run whatever brand tire they prefer—and Dunlop has been the overwhelming choice at Daytona for many decades. Eslick’s tires were made in America at Dunlop’s Buffalo plant, and are available to club and pro riders through dunlopracing.com.
