Danny Eslick will replace Ben Bostrom as Roger Hayden’s teammate on the Michael Jordan Motorsports (MJM) AMA Pro Superbike team in 2013. The 2013 rider lineup for MJM has been the subject of much speculation ever since the 2012 GEICO Motorcycle AMA Pro Road Racing season ended in October. Several riders’ names were thrown out as possibilities, but the first hard piece of information came from Bostrom himself. On November 28, Bostrom posted on his Twitter feed: “Would be cool to see 2 brothers @Tommy_Hayden22 and @rogerhayden95 on @23race next year. Plus, the paddock needs TH’s friendly personality.” Roadracingworld.com followed up by asking Bostrom directly if he would be riding for the MJM team in 2013, and Bostrom replied via text message, “I won’t be there brother.” Roadracingworld.com was unable to reach Bostrom on his cell phone for an interview before post time. Now, Roadracingworld.com has learned from two separate sources inside the MJM organization that 26-year-old Eslick will replace Bostrom on the #23 Suzuki and that the team’s complete 2013 plans will be announced in a press release due to be released next week. “I don’t think we can talk about too much of anything until next week, I guess,” Eslick told Roadracingworld.com in a telephone interview Thursday. “The only thing I know is I’m not riding the [EBR] again.” Competing as a rookie in the Superbike class with very little pre-season testing, Eslick finished eighth in the 2012 National Guard AMA Pro Superbike Championship with three podium finishes on his #69 Team HERO EBR (Erik Buell Racing) 1190RS. “I loved it [EBR 1190RS],” said Eslick. “It was awesome. I think we did a pretty damn good job to get the thing on the podium a couple of times. We were coming on strong there at the end of the year. But you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do.” When asked about Roger Hayden’s status with the team, a source referred to a post Hayden made to his Twitter page on December 4, which read: “Signed sealed and delivered. #2013″ Roger Hayden, the 29-year-old younger brother of Pro racers Tommy and Nicky Hayden, took his #54 National Guard Suzuki to third in the 2013 AMA Pro Superbike Championship, earning his career-first race win in the class and seven other podium finishes along the way. Michael Jordan Motorsports is expected to begin its 2013 off-season testing program on its 2009 Suzuki GSX-R1000s in December in Southern California.
