GTU teams dominated the 200-Mile Team Challenge race at Daytona International Speedway Thursday afternoon, with KSA Consulting’s Nathan Kern and Michael Barnes winning on a Suzuki GSX-R600.

Kern had orginally planned on riding with Hooters Suzuki team owner Steve DeCamp, but DeCamp was called away from the racetrack when his father was involved in a car accident. Barnes then stepped in to co-ride in DeCamp’s place.

Big Show Racing’s Brian Salazar, Aaron Risinger and Jeff Vermeulen finished second overall on another Suzuki GSX-R600 with I&E Innovative Homes’ Thomas Pfuner and Chris Cummings third overall on a Suzuki GSX-R600.

The first GTO team was the Big Valley Honda CBR929RR ridden by Rich Thorwaldson and Jim Groshong, crossing the line sixth overall. Twisted Melon’s Eric Spector and Shane Clarke finished second in GTO on a Suzuki GSX-R750 at seventh overall, and had a shot at winning overall before running out of gas in the closing laps. Leading Edge’s Darry Wilbur and Paul Bastarache were third in GTO on a Yamaha YZF-R1.

Overall Results:
1. KSA Consulting, GTU, 56 laps
2. Big Show Racing, GTU, 56 laps
3. I&E, 55 laps
4. River Oaks Yamaha, GTU, 54 laps
5. Starnet/4&6, GTU, 54 laps
6. Big Valley Honda, GTO, 54 laps
7. Twisted Melon, GTO, 53 laps.
