Design Dane’s Helmet Contest!

Tulsa, OK (April 11, 2014) – Broaster Chicken, Yamalube/Westby Racing and Arai Helmets have partnered with The National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to bring this unique opportunity to design the paint scheme for Dane Westby’s Arai Corsair-V helmet. The winning submitted design will be painted on the helmet and worn by Dane at the New Jersey Motorsports Park AMA Pro race in September. The helmet will then be auctioned, with the proceeds going to NDSS to further promote its mission of being the national advocate for the value, acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome.

Designs may be submitted by anyone. The winner will be chosen based on its creativity and inspirational design. All design submissions must be received by July 31st, 2014. The winning entry will receive 4 tickets and pit passes to the AMA Pro Race at New Jersey Motorsports Park on September 13, 2014 plus a Broaster gift box.

Please share this with your friends and colleagues and help promote Down syndrome awareness and acceptance.

Dane Westby: “When we decided to strike out on our own with Westby Racing, we always thought it would be great to hook up with a charity, and try to give back something to the community. This was an obvious choice for us…we have several members of the Westby Racing team and family who have loved ones with Down syndrome. That’s why we chose this, and I’m hoping to have a really cool helmet design for New Jersey.”

Kirk Reuille, Broaster Chicken Racing Manager: “It’s a great cause for great people. When the team came together, we realized many of us had connections to Down syndrome in one way or another. We all agreed fate was telling us to do something with it.”

Mark Priceman, NDSS VP Communications & Marketing: “The National Down Syndrome Society is very happy to work on this project with Dane and everyone at YamaLube Westby Racing, Broaster Chicken and Arai Helmets. We know that running a race team is not a cheap operation and the fact that they are donating time and money to help our efforts means a lot to us and everyone in the Down syndrome community.”

Chuck Giacchetto, Westby Racing Team Manager: “For me, the thought of being able to help someone with Downs is a home run! I will work as hard as possible to bring support for the NDSS any way I can, and what a better way than through motorcycle racing. Everyone on the team is on board with this mission and in the end it brings smiles to the entire group of people involved, and hopefully everyone at the track and the NDSS.”

Brian Weston, Arai Helmets Managing Director: “Arai is often approached to participate in promotions that benefit various causes, but it is always rewarding to be involved in one that engages and involves those who will benefit from the program. When we first heard the idea we knew we wanted to be a part of it, and were pleased to learn that it grew from a national to an international program. After all, when all is said and done, the idea of helping a worthwhile cause and doing so in a way to raise awareness on a global scale is not something than can be done every day. We’d like to thank Broaster for inviting Arai to participate in this project.”

You can download a template of the Arai helmet here http://www.ndss.org/Global/Corsair-V.pdf or visit the NDSS website. Submissions will be taken both electronically by sending them to https://www.kintera.org/AutoGen/Simple/Donor.asp?ievent=422522&en=7qKDJONrG6JMIYOuG5KJLVNFJkJLLTPzEdJJI1NMKuE
