NGM Forward Racing returns to the USA for the Indianapolis GP

The NGM Forward Racing Team heads back across the Atlantic to the USA for the second American round on the calendar, the Indianapolis Grand Prix.

Relaxed after a nice summer break, the NGM Forward Racing riders are ready to tackle the second part of the season, starting from the US track that hosts a GP since 2008.

Constructed in 1909, the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway will welcome the MotoGP circus with a complete new asphalt and some important modifications to 7 corners to make the layout even more interesting. For the riders, the first free practices will be very important to understand how the circuit has changed in order to work on the set up of their machines for the race.

“Indianapolis is a very special place with a lot of history behind. My family and friends will be there and I’m sure it will be an emotional weekend. I’m curious to see how the new surface is, as there used to be 4 different kinds of tarmacs. Also the layout has changed, so it will be very interesting. I really look forward to Indy”.

“We are heading to the USA after the summer break. I was able to rest after Sachsenring, spending a week at the seaside before returning on my usual training schedule. It will be interesting to understand the grip of the new asphalt. I’m very excited for this US round, we arrive after three very positive races in a row and I’m determined to keep this good momentum. The atmosphere is always special in America and I look forward to the race”.

“In the last two weeks I have trained a lot in preparation of this second part of the championship and now it’s time to return racing. I like Indy very much and I look forward to race in the States. In the last races we worked very well with the team and we know that we can fight for the podium so we will keep our head down determined to get more podium finishes in this second half of the season”.

Mattia Pasini

“I’m happy to be back on track after the summer break. I have trained to tackle this second part of the season in the best possible way. We finished the first half with a very good result in Germany, so I’m confident for the next races. I’m determined to get a good result at Indy and it’s always special to race in the United States”.

Join The Stars Of MotoGP In Saying Farewell To Colin Edwards Live On Stage During His Final U.S. MotoGP Appearance

Cypress, CA – August 5, 2014 –This weekend’s Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix will be Colin Edwards’ final MotoGP race on American soil, and to commemorate the occasion, Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., invites you to join a special “Farewell To The Texas Tornado” live event Saturday evening on the center stage at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The celebration begins at approximately 5:30 PM EST Saturday.

“This is going to be a special evening that’s sure to bring lots of laughs, along with possibly a few tears of emotion, as we look back at the racing career of one of Yamaha’s most popular and colorful legends,” commented Bob Starr, General Manager of National Communications for Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. “Colin has been part of our Yamaha family for nearly a quarter of a century, and we’re proud to host this celebration in his honor.”

Joining Colin up on stage will be a whole host of MotoGP stars, including Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi, Jorge Lorenzo, Pol Espargaro, and Bradley Smith. Also joining the celebration will be Yamaha Motor Racing Managing Director Lin Jarvis; motojournalist, author, and motorcycle racing broadcaster Julian Ryder, as well as many other surprise guests. The celebration will include a retrospective of Colin’s career–both on track and off–and Colin will undoubtedly have his famous T-shirt cannon loaded up with swag that he will launch to the lucky fans in attendance.

As an added bonus, the winning bidder of Colin’s personally autographed racing gear will be invited up on stage during the event to accept his prize package from the man himself.
