CMRA Holding Third Annual Westby Classic This Coming Weekend At Hallett

This weekend, May 19 – 21, 2017, the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) heads to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit near Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the Third Annual Westby Classic. The round is named in honor of CMRA racer Dane Westby, who was fatally injured in a street crash in March 2015 . This will be the first stop for the CMRA this season at the challenging 1.8 mile, counter-clockwise 11-turn road course.

The weekend’s activities begin Friday with an all-day CMRA racer practice and CMRA License school beginning at 8:00 a.m. Registration opens at 6:30 a.m. and pre-registration is not required. Post-entry for the races is available at the track beginning 6:30 am Friday, May 19.

Saturday’s schedule includes a full slate of Mini and Lightweight sprint races followed by the Solo 30 Races, featuring the Island Racing Services – Solo 30 HW Novice, MW Novice, and LW Novice classes. Then it’s round two of Championship Endurance with a 6-Hour Endurance race, featuring Promomin/Repsol Oils – Superbike, and Antic Screen Printing – Formula 2 classes. There will be a podium awards ceremony and a meet and greet at the track immediately following the day’s races.

Sunday’s schedule is jam-packed with a full day’s worth of competitive Bridgestone/CMRA Championship Sprint races and a spectator lap at lunch time. Among the exciting classes not to be missed is the Metric Garage/P1 Racing – Formula 1 Expert class, and the Century Trucks and Vans – Formula 2 Expert class with the winners going to the lunchtime podium. There is live timing and scoring available for all the races via the Race-Monitor App on mobile devices and online athttp://www.cmraracing.com/timing.html. Keep up with the action if you can’t make it out to the track!

Gates are open Thursday from 6-10 p.m. for camping and set-up. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, gates open at 6:00 a.m. and we race rain or shine! Weekend entry into the event is only $20 on Thursday, and Friday, $20 on Saturday, and just $15 on Sunday. Tickets are good for the entire weekend. There is a $5 wristband refund for participants leaving Saturday night – turn in your wristband at the gate as you leave. Ride your street bike to the event and you’ll pay just $5 for entry on both Saturday and Sunday! Kids 12 and under are free. A spectator lap of the track will be conducted during the lunch break on Sunday, schedule and weather permitting.
