TSE Racing wins in Daytona!

TSE Racing came to Daytona International Raceway this past weekend, October 20-22, with three riders and three goals, accomplishing them all.

Stefan Dolipski and Carl Soltisz came down to contend in the final round of the ASRA Team Challenge event with the goal of winning the National Championship. TSE/Wolfpack managed to finish 3rd in class and 5th overall, securing the Overall National Championship.

Carl as came to Daytona with an individual goal of winning a CCS sprint National Championship. Carl did so on Saturday when he finished first in the Heavyweight Supersport Expert class.

On the amateur end of the TSE Racing team we had Jonathan Schweiger. He came to Daytona this year for the first time. With never having been to the track before and knowing he was going to struggle to finish up front on his stock Triumph Daytona 675 he came to Daytona for the experience and to wrap up the ASRA Sportbike Championship in the top three.

Stefan Dolipski – Team Captain #119 TSE/Wolfpack: “This season was the first endurance championship Carl and I participated in. We started this as a fun thing as BMW paid contingency for the class and we believed we could make some money. Once we participated in a few events, we were in the lead in the GTO as well as the Overall Championship. At that point we decided to continue the season. My teammates Carl and Bailey Cox were riding for the goal that we had set and delivered every time they rode the bike. I couldn’t be happier to be with such a great team. The TSE crew put the word Team in Team Challenge and between all the hours that went into this program, always had a great bike ready for us to race. Thank you to all involved as well as the support from BMW Motorrad.”

Carl Soltisz: “We wrapped up our road racing season this year with an incredible fun and dramatic final round at the CCS/ASRA Race of Champions. After a string of crashes in previous years at this event, I was able to put it all together this year to win my first Expert National Championship, in Heavyweight Supersport, and earn a number of podium finishes in my other classes! I’ve been working hard towards this goal for a long time and it means so much to have it all pay off.”

“Additionally, we also settled the ASRA National Team Challenge Championship this weekend. We came into this final round with a small points lead in the Overall and GTO class championships. We knew we had to deliver a good result to earn both championships. Stefan started out on the bike for the first stint and rode very well, handing me the bike for the remainder of the race, just behind our closest championship rivals. I was able to turn some consistent quick times, but on the final lap right before the checkered flag we had an engine failure, and with oil leaking everywhere I had to pull into the pits. I wasn’t allowed to push the bike across the finish line with oil leaking so I did what any real racer would do — I took the transponder off the bike and sprinted the rest of the way across the line in true Ricky Bobby fashion! It was an incredibly hilarious and fun experience to get to do that at Daytona and one I will never forget.”

“I want to give a big thanks to our captain, Stefan “Germany” Dolipski for letting me ride with him and making this championship possible. I also want to thank our teammate Bailey Cox for stepping up and riding for us at multiple rounds this season. We couldn’t have done it without him.”

Jonathan Schweiger: “There is no other racetrack like Daytona in the world. This is a track that every racer needs to experience. It was a privilege racing with other champions from around the country. Although I wasn’t able to keep up with the lead group with my bone stock motor, I was able to secure a third place overall for the ASRA Amateur Sportbike Championship. This was an incredible season with TSE Racing and I can’t thank them enough for all the help and support they have given me this year. It was an incredible learning year for me and I’m looking forward to all the new learn curves I will experience next year.”

Meghan Ryan – Team Manager: “The TSE Racing team has had one bumpy season but in the end everything has ended on a high note. We are now heading into the off-season and preparing to make the 2018 season-opener down in Daytona again. We will be back with Cory West and Carl Soltisz to compete in the 77th running of the Daytona 200.”
