Santiago Villa will not race the next round of the AMA Pro Road Racing series scheduled July 22-24 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Villa crashed in Turn One during AMA Pro Daytona SportBike Race Two July 10 at Mid-Ohio. After consulting with doctors in the United States and his home country of Colombia, it was determined that Villa had a triple fracture on his collarbone and another bone fracture in his left shoulder. It is impossible to do surgery because the fragments are too small, and it is an unnecessary surgery for a bone that will heal naturally over time. “It’s a shame what happened at Mid-Ohio. I was getting better and better on my lap times in every track I was racing,” said Villa. “Now the doctors recommend to wait, which is not one of my favorite words. But the pain is just too much, and this time this is not an injury I can just ignore and go racing. “Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is the best track of the Championship and the most important weekend of racing in the U.S., and I’m not going to be there. That really bothers me, but I hope to be better and return to the track as fast as I can.” Santiago Villa # 32 SPONSORS: DUNLOP ADDICT BY BOSI P3 RACING HEROIC LEATHERS GAERNE BOOTS ARAI HELMETS MOTO XTREME TACAMA MOTUL MSF DESIGNS BODYTECH GMD COMPUTRACK DRIPPINWET
