The first FIM Women’s Road Racing Training camp, to be held at the Circuit of Albacete, Spain, on 4, 5 and 6 October 2013, has received valuable support from BMW Motorrad. The German motorcycle company will provide the participants and the instructors of the Women’s’ Road Racing training camp with a small fleet of their top selling sports model, the BMW S 1000 RR, for their use. Organised by the FIM and the Royal Spanish Motorcycle Federation (RFME), this camp is a unique opportunity for women riders to practise on a dedicated circuit, enhance their knowledge and skills and get personalised coaching from Road Racing professionals. The training camp is open to women riders competing at National level and who want to improve their riding skills. Each participant must have a 2013 National, Continental or International licence. The fee is EUR 100, covering the three days (all included except transport). Nita Korhonen, Director of the Commission Women in Motorcycling said: “It has been great to see the overwhelmingly positive feedback we have received from all over the world for our Road Racing project. It seems that there was a real need to invest more in women´s Road Racing. And now, to have BMW as a partner for our project is truly amazing. Their S1000 RR bikes will make our training camp even more fascinating and we are already planning a continuation of the Training Camps in 2014 and 2015, with a dedicated Road Racing Championship for Women as our target. I am really looking forward to an amazing kick start for this project at Albacete circuit together with Dorna, BMW and the RFME.”
