PICKERINGTON, Ohio — April 1 marks the beginning of the fourth annual “AMA Go Ride! Month.” The 30-day celebration of all things motorcycling is sponsored by the American Motorcyclist Association and encourages motorcyclists nationwide to celebrate the thrill of riding on the street, track and trail.

“Winter is finally giving way to spring, and millions of motorcyclists have been eagerly awaiting the chance to ride,” said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “AMA Go Ride! Month pays homage to every motorcyclist for whom riding is not just a pastime, but a real passion.”

This year’s AMA Go Ride! Month will include weekly prizes and a monthly grand prize. Complete details will be announced next week.

Each week during AMA Go Ride! Month, the AMA will focus on a special motorcycling theme with press releases and frequent posts on Facebook and Twitter.

  • March 31-April 4: “AMA Go Ride Your Way!” beckons to those who have a favorite trail or twisty road. Riders will be encouraged to post comments and photos on social media using the hashtag #AMARideYourWay.
  • April 7-11: “AMA Go Ride Together!” week showcases the fun of riding with others. During the week, upcoming AMA-chartered rallies will be featured, ranging from gypsy tours to dual-sport and adventure-touring rides to AMA national conventions. Add your voice to the conversation with the hashtag #AMARideTogether.
  • April 14-18: “AMA Go Ride for a Cause!” week spotlights the “heart” of motorcycling: Riders who rally for riding freedoms or saddle up to help those in need. Events and activities where motorcyclists gather in support of worthy causes are highlighted. Our hashtag for this week is #AMARideForACause.
  • April 21-25: “AMA Go Ride Safely!” week emphasizes rider training, skills development and the selection of proper riding apparel to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience on every ride. Follow the chatter using #AMARideSafely.

Also, each Friday in April will be designated a Freedom Friday (#AMAFreedomFriday), where the AMA will focus on an issue that threatens riding freedoms. Riders will be encouraged to share concern and use AMA tools to make a difference.

Now is the perfect time to get ready for AMA Go Ride! Month. Helpful tips and tools for all riders are available on the AMA website at www.americanmotorcyclist.com/riding/street/resources andwww.americanmotorcyclist.com/riding/dirt/getstarted.
