Team Rabid Transit Will Race The Oschersleben 8-hour World Endurance Round With Sheridan Morais And Brandon Cretu

Team Rabid Transit will make their debut into the FIM Endurance World Championship this month when they take part in the 8-hour race during the German Speedweek at Oschersleben in Germany. The team will be fully supported by the Yamaha Austria Racing Team (YART) who just finished a superb 4th place at the Suzuka 8-hour. Sheridan Morais and Brandon Cretu, both teammates for Rabid Transit in MotoAmerica, will pilot the YART prepared Yamaha R1 during the grueling 8-hour event that will run on August 27.

Morais is no stranger to the endurance racing, having ridden for YART last year and during years prior. Along with this Morais also helped YART score a podium finish at Oschersleben 8-hour last year and a podium with them at the Bol D’or 24-hour in 2013. Morais took to the bench this year with YART in the Endurance World Championship so he could focus on MotoAmerica but will return for this event with Cretu and then will ride again for YART at the Bol D’or 24-hour race in September.

Endurance racing is nothing new for Cretu either, having ridden endurance for much of his club racing career with WERA and CCS. He helped the highly regarded national endurance team, Army of Darkness, score a win during the Summit Point 6-hour in the WERA National Endurance Championship. Cretu has also competed at the Isle of Man TT for seven years in a row which is a single rider endurance race in itself, with a Superbike race lasting nearly 2 hours along with two pit stops.

Sheridan Morais commented:

“I am very excited to be taking on the challenging circuit that is Oschersleben Raceway. Riding with my MotoAmerica teammate, Brandon Cretu, we are combining both of my ‘worlds!’ The Endurance World Championship with YART and the MotoAmerica Championship with Team Rabid Transit, now together, will be great fun. Training has been at its max for me with this small amount of time off of racing but I’m raring to go now.”

Brandon Cretu commented:

“Racing in World Endurance has been on my short list for quite some time. To be able to race alongside my MotoAmerica teammate, Shez, on YART prepared and supported machinery is just the best icing on the cake that one could ask for! I’ve been training hard and doing everything I can to be ready for this new challenge. It’s going to be lekka!”
