TEAM WD-40 RIDERS EXCITED BY WORLD SUPERBIKES After a fantastic start to the season Team WD-40 heads to the heart of British motorsport, Donington Park, for the British round of the World Superbike championships. Team mates Tommy Aquino and Jon Railton will be looking at securing good results in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 championship and are excited at the prospect of racing in the World Superbikes race series in front of an expected crowd of over 60,000 fans. The track is significant for the team as it is Jon’s favourite and will hopefully provide the youngster with an excellent opportunity to bring home a top ten finish. Both riders have tested at Donington Park ahead of the championships this weekend with positive results and great bike performances. Jon said: “Donington is my favourite track and one that I really enjoy racing. The testing went really well and I’m very happy with the way the bike is handling now. The team have done a really impressive job with tweaking the suspension and it feels really comfortable and is performing well. I’m extremely excited to be racing in the World Superbikes race series and hope to secure a high position on Sunday.” For Tommy, the British weather is proving a little different to the California sunshine, but he’s getting used to the rain and has put in some great performances so far. He said: “I’m pleased that I got some championship points in the last 2 races, but I am determined to get in to the top ten and continue my progress up the championship table.” Team WD-40’s manager, Brent Gladwin, said: “Team WD-40 has performed very well so far this season and I’m extremely proud of our boys. We have seemed to have found our way with the new tyres on Jon’s bike now and his crew have tweaked the suspension which should give him a lot more pace. After seeing his performance while testing I’m very confident he’ll do well this weekend. Both Jon and Tommy are competing in probably the most competitive race series in the World, so their performances this season have been very pleasing. Tommy is also trying new things with his bike and I’m sure he’ll be right up there in the top ten before long. We’re all very excited to be part of the World Superbikes series and surrounded by incredible talents and I know the atmosphere is going to be fantastic.” WD-40 is the new title sponsor of GR Motosport. The company has just launched seven new products specifically for use on motorbikes, under its recently launched WD-40 Specialist Motorbike brand. www.wd40specialistmotorbike.co.uk/ www.teamwd40.com Team Partners Cargolink Express, L&A Reinforcements, Carrino access flooring, The Air Con Experts, F&G Commercials, Bennetts Motorcycle Insurance, Kent Holiday Cottages, RS Components, 3 Squared, Signsxtra Technical Partners Kawasaki, Scorpion Red Power, Dynojet UK, Swinton Motorcycles, R&G racing, PPG Paint, Goodridge, Pipercross, Solo Motorcycle products, Super B, MG Competition, Dellorto
