Alan-Wilson-designed Road Course Due To Open Near Salt Lake City In 2005

Miller Motorsports Park, a new, Alan-Wilson-designed motorsports complex, is scheduled to open in August 2005 on a 500-acre site in Tooele, Utah, about 30 miles west of Salt Lake City, Utah.

The facility will include two road courses, one 2.24-miles-long and one 2.0-miles-long, which will be able to be run separately and simultaneously or be combined into a single, 4.5-mile-long road course, that will include a 3500-foot-long straightaway.

The faciltiy, described as “World Class” on its website, is planned to have top-level paddock facilities, spectator areas with views of almost the entire track and “will host premier regional and national racing events” and “meet all appropriate safety and operational standards as would be required by any North American sanctioning body.”

Miller Motorsports Park is owned by Larry H. Miller. In addition to being a race enthusiast, Miller is the owner of the Utah Jazz NBA team, the Delta Center in downtown Salt Lake City, a television station, a theme restaurant, a chain of movie theaters and over 40 auto dealerships.
