Phillips and Dominguez Dominate with Multiple Podiums at MotorSports Ranch

Despite low temperatures and high winds, Alan Phillips dominated his sprint races during the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association’s (CMRA) third round of CMRA Championship sprints this past Sunday, April 8, on the 1.7-mile clockwise course at MotorSports Ranch in Cresson, Texas.

Phillips put his head down aboard his MotoBros Yamaha YZF-R6 and trusted in his tires and suspension to land on top of the box in three of his five races. Phillips earned three first place wins in South Central Race Center – C Superstock Expert with a fastest lap of 1:26.417, A Superbike Expert with the fast lap of 1:28.419, and C Superbike Expert with a fastest lap of 1:23.760. Phillips also finished second in B Superstock Expert with a fast lap of 1:26.467. Then finished his day with a hard fought race and a finish of fourth in Formula 1 Expert with a personal fast lap of 1:22.239.

Dustin Dominguez turned the fastest lap of the day and took the first place overall Formula 1 Expert finish aboard his Southern Adrenaline backed, Dunlop-shod, Kawasaki ZX-10R. Dominguez partook in a hard fought battle for first with Cody Mecklenburg running right on his tail during the Formula 1 Expert race but pulled off the win by just 3.118 seconds. In A Superstock Expert Dominguez found himself up against Mecklenburg again and ended up turning the fastest lap of the day with a 1:18.065. He also fought his way to one more podium finish with a second place finish in A Superbike Expert and a fastest lap of the race at 1:25.449.

CMRA Novice racer, Rob Lackey found his way into the spotlight this weekend with five podium finishes. Lackey received four first place finishes in D Superstock Novice with a fast lap of 1:35.148, Formula 2 Novice with a fast lap of 1:34.311, Lightweight Twins Novice with a fast lap of 1:34.483, and D Superbike Novice with a fast lap of 1:32.817. He also took home a third place finish in Heavyweight Twins Novice with a fast lap of 1:34.223.

Another outstanding Novice this past Sunday was Jeff Reinke, turning a fastest lap of the day in C Superbike Novice with a time of 1:22.237. Reinke also took home two more first place finishes in A Superbike Novice with a fast lap of 1:31.868, and Formula 1 Novice with another fast lap of 1:22.624.
